E-Energy - ICT-based energy system of the future
A funding programme of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) in an interministerial partnership with the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
Climate change, the rapid surge in energy demand and dwindling natural resources present Germany with major challenges in the field of energy supply. Industry and politics must work hand in hand in future to secure an economical and environmentally compatible supply of power for all public and private sectors.
Up to now, there has been little common ground between energy efficiency and information technology - a state of affairs which is now set to change. The current objective is to create an "Internet of Energy". The BMWi has coined the phrase "E-Energy" for this new field of innovation. As in the case of E-Commerce or E-Government, the term stands for the comprehensive digital networking and optimization of the energy supply system, encompassing everything from generation and distribution right up to consumption. The project will ensure more effective utilization of the existing supply infrastructure, expand the use of renewable energy resources and reduce CO2 emissions.

Itcontains a first insight to the project "E-Energy - ICT-based energy system of the future", its goals and the importance of the project for the development of e-mobility in Germany. Smart Grids Week Salzburg
Am 22. Juni trafen sich Vertreter aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz im Rahmen der Smart Grids Week in Salzburg, um erste Schritte der DACHKooperation zu erörtern.

Das Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi) und die Alcatel-Lucent Stiftung für Kommunikationsforschung, Stuttgart, organisieren diese Konferenz zu Datenschutz und Verbraucherschutz in Smart Grids im Rahmen der NEWISE-Veranstaltungsreihe der Stiftung. Das Tagungsprogramm wurde mit Unterstützung der Begleitforschung und der Projektpartner der E-Energy-Förderprojekte des BMWi und des BMU - "E-Energy - IKT-basiertes Energiesystem der Zukunft" - erarbeitet.

Smart Grids Europe 2010

Zum zweiten Mal fand die europäische Smartgrid Konferenz in Amsterdam statt. Als Teil der Transmission & Distribution Europe 2010 Konferenz genossen die Vorträge rund um die in-telligenten Netze hohe Aufmerksamkeit. E-Energy war durch Ludwig Karg, den Leiter der Begleitforschung, sowie den Modellstadt Mannheim Projektpartner Power PLUS vertreten.

The German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies of DIN and VDE in cooperation with the funding programme E-Energy has developed the "German Roadmap Smart Grid". 
In the brochure "E-Energy - Paving the Way towards an Internet of Energy", the project managers for the six model regions answer questions and provide information.
