PRESSEMITTEILUNG

Task Force: Market Cultivation

In the task force on market cultivation, the six e-energy model regions cooperate in identifying the products, services and business models of the future that will be made possible based on the findings, insights and stimuli generated by the energy internet. The task force is comprised of partners from the model regions - generally market actors well-versed in the competitive process - who work together with selected experts under the supervision of the accompanying research team.

Even though it is working largely on prototypes or on strategies that remain in the conceptual phase, the task force focuses on central questions that will affect the future of e-energy, including the identification of new markets and the determination of customer benefits/customer acceptance. In this way, the task force aims to identify new energy products and their benefits and to define the role of these products on the new market for e-energy. As energy markets develop on the basis of the energy internet, it is crucial to identify the market and efficiency potential of promising products and services, to develop strategies for tapping this potential, and to build effective marketing strategies.

In the future, cutting-edge information and communication technologies (ICT) will increasingly permeate the energy sector. This process will create new, integrated data and energy systems with completely new structures and functions, which in turn will generate an entirely new generation of products and services. These developments will have far-reaching impacts on both innovation and commercial activity, will spawn new growth markets and fields of employment, and will cause an unprecedented level of integration between two heavyweight sectors of the economy - energy and ICT.
